The Paris-based brand of handbags and accessories has already succeeded in reconciling the creation of luxury leather goods with the use of innovative, vegan and recycled materials. Thalie, a pioneering brand with no intention of stopping there.
Very few brands can claim to be shining today after having been born at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. Thalie Paris is one of the lucky ones to have taken advantage of the health crisis to create and perpetuate a well-thought-out concept and a solid business model.
When the company was founded in 2020, it was far from a given success. But the dedication and vision of its founder, Nathalie Dionne, has made a major contribution to the growth of a brand that is already a benchmark in the Parisian eco-luxury fashion scene, and far beyond.
An ecological conscience rare in the world of fine leather goods
Stylistically speaking, Thalie products have a well-defined signature. They are designed to be practical, minimalist and chic. Each handbag is designed to sublimate women, with an emphasis on ergonomics and movement. All of which makes a real difference in the face of already tough competition.
But the added value of the brand's creations is not limited to this. "At Thalie Paris, we encourage the creation of more sustainable luxury by ensuring that our raw materials are sourced ecologically, using certified suppliers, recycled materials and plant-based biosourced and vegan textile innovations", says Nathalie Dionne.
Nothing is wasted, nothing is new, everything is transformed
Thalie Paris, presented as one of the best vegan leather handbag brands for 2022, takes its commitments very seriously. The label's collection of cactus handbags has been given the "PETA vegan approved" label. The products are made from cactus fibers, an OEKO-TEX-certified plant material developed and produced on sustainable farms in Mexico from the nopal cactus.
The recycled marine leather collection,"the Sushi Collection", is made from Squama Lux, a recycled leather made from salmon skins recycled from French sushi restaurants. The entire manufacturing process takes place in France, thanks to our Lyon-based partner, the tannery Ictyos.
The "Upcycled" collection is based on dormant leather stocks from the luxury goods industry, which would otherwise end up in landfill. Thalie is the pilot brand for leather upcycling with LVMH Nona Source. Recycling a high-value product like leather is a very important element in the brand's strategy, as it is keen to participate in a more responsible fashion industry.
Next step: the launch of an organic vegan cactus capsule collection in spring 2023. Who says luxury doesn't go hand in hand with vegan and sustainable?
