Ecology at the Heart of Creation: Thalie Paris Elevates Fish Leather Recycling

A Photoshoot in Collaboration with Corinne Thomet and Ludovic Alussi

Thalie Paris is the pioneering brand in the creation of salmon leather bags, made from by-products of the food industry. For Thalie, the balance between sustainability and eco-responsibility is essential, with innovation playing a central role in its creations. It is in this ecological approach that Thalie Paris chose to partner with ICTYOS, a Lyon-based company specializing in transforming salmon skins into leather, in order to reduce waste in the food industry.

These durable pieces quickly caught the attention of Ludovic Alussi, photographer, and Corinne Thomet, photo stylist, who wanted to lend their expertise to the Parisian house to showcase these unique creations.

Ludovic Alussi and Corinne Thomet have previously collaborated for the fashion press, capturing photographs of luxury accessories. Sensitive to the environmental impact, they shared the same concerns about overconsumption and uphold the same ecological values. As a result, they decided to offer their services with this new vision, guided by principles of sustainability and responsibility.

Through these photographs, we find the Cleo top handle models in Metallic Green and Tanzanite Blue, as well as the iconic Livia model in Turquoise Blue. These models, part of Thalie’s “Sushi Collection”, made from marine leather, are showcased in underwater settings under the creative direction of Ludovic Alussi and Corinne Thomet, who envisioned an environment reflecting the origins of the noble material, salmon leather. This series of images presents the house's iconic pieces in the depths of the ocean, floating gracefully like fish in the water. The project highlights the values of the house eco-responsibility and the recycling of raw materials shared by this duo of creators, who aim to bring about change for a more sustainable future.

Ludovic Alussi has been a French photographer since 1998.
After studying photography at EFET Paris, he began his career as a studio assistant at Rouchon Studio in Paris, where he worked for four years. This experience allowed him to collaborate with numerous companies and advertising agencies. He then went on to create several projects, which he exhibited in various French cities, including his series "EMBOUTEILLAGES", presented in Paris, Marseille, and at the Fondation du doute in Blois.

In 2022, he joined the cross-disciplinary sustainable development project "AQUADETRITUS," which he has showcased at various events. In 2024, upon returning to Paris, he settled in Montreuil with Ludovic Nobileau, a director and visual artist, and together they founded Studio Ludo's.

Corinne Thomet is a photo stylist, art director, and interior designer. After beginning her career in the performing arts, she shifted her focus to the world of fashion and designer shows. She had the opportunity to collaborate with French and European press, as well as with brands, catalogs, advertisements, and photographers, working as a photo stylist and fashion editor. However, over the course of her career, she became aware of the significant waste of props and objects, which prompted her to seek innovative solutions. This led her to explore drawing and 3D design.

She then decided to combine her creativity with more sustainable techniques by turning to decoration, event scenography, and interior architecture. After completing professional training, she is committed to blending aesthetics and sustainability in all her projects.

Her motto, "Beau, bien et bon!" ("Beautiful, good, and right!"), reflects her dedication to reducing environmental impacts and overconsumption in her field. Corinne strives to design spaces that promote sustainable well-being while respecting the planet.
