Cannes 2025: Celebrating Cinema and Commitment with the Better World Fund

From May 13 to 24, 2025, the spotlight of global cinema returns to the French Riviera for the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival. This year, the festival welcomes Juliette Binoche as President of the Jury, bringing her signature elegance and depth to the world’s most prestigious film celebration. In parallel with the official festival, the Better World Fund (BWF) will commemorate its 10th anniversary. Founded by Manuel de Collas de LaRoche, the BWF has become a key voice at Cannes, championing global causes such as sustainability, education, gender equality, and human rights through culture and the arts.

One of the cornerstone events of this anniversary edition is the Better World Charity Auction, set to take place on May 20th at the legendary Carlton Hotel in Cannes. This exclusive gala auction featured in the Drouot Gazette brings together a curated selection of luxury items and experiences, with proceeds benefiting Mira Nair’s Salaam Baalak Trust, an NGO dedicated to empowering street children in India.
